Plans, limits and what is billed separately
What each plan includes, how per-user billing works, and which usage meruma does not bill.
meruma is billed per user, per month, in US dollars, and there are four plans. Prices and the full breakdown are on the pricing page; what usually raises questions is here.
The four plans

The Free plan is not a trial with an expiry date: it stays free. The limits are about size, not time.
What meruma does NOT charge for
This is the part worth understanding before comparing prices with other tools. Three kinds of usage do not go through our invoice:
- WhatsApp conversations. Meta charges for them, directly to your business. See what Meta charges you.
- Calling and SMS. They run on provider credits, at the published rate with no markup from us. You can estimate with the calling calculator and the SMS one.
- AI bots. They use your organization’s OpenAI key and OpenAI bills that account.
We do it this way on purpose: you pay the real cost, you see it where it is generated, and if you leave, your Meta account, your number and your OpenAI key stay with you. Several platforms resell that usage with an undeclared margin.
How users are counted
You are billed per person with access to the organization. If someone leaves the team, removing them from Organization → Users stops them counting.
Pending invitations do not count until they are accepted.
Changing plan
Moving up takes effect immediately. Moving down takes effect at the end of the period already paid for, and it is worth checking the limits of the plan you are moving to first: if you have five channels connected and move to one that allows three, you have to decide which stay.
Taxes and invoicing
Published prices exclude taxes. Whichever apply in your country are added separately and are on your business.
