Where to put it

On the counter, in the shop window, on the restaurant menu, on an invoice, on packaging or on a flyer. Anywhere someone has their phone in hand and a question in mind.

PNG or SVG

  • PNG for screens, social media or a quick document.
  • SVG for print: it stays sharp however large you make it, so it is the one to send to the printer.

Making sure it actually scans

  • Print it at least 2 cm across, larger if it will be scanned from a distance.
  • Leave white space around it: without that margin many cameras will not read it.
  • Do not place it over a photo or a low-contrast background.
  • Test it with your own phone before printing a thousand flyers.

A trick worth using

Use a different message on every place you put a code: “I saw the window”, “I saw the menu”. When the enquiry arrives you already know which sign works — and in meruma that becomes an automatic tag on the contact.
