Create your account and organization

From signing up to having your team’s workspace ready, in a few minutes.

Getting started

meruma has two separate things: your account, which is yours and gets you in, and the organization, which is your team’s workspace. The data — contacts, conversations, channels — lives in the organization, not in your account.

Create the account

  1. Go to the sign-up screen and fill in first name, last name, email and a password of eight characters or more.
  2. You get an email with a code. Type it into the verification screen.
  3. That is it: you have an account.

Use your work email. When someone invites you to another organization, the invitation goes to that address.

Create the organization

After verifying your email, meruma asks for the organization name. That name is what your team will see, so use the real name of the business.

Whoever creates it becomes the Owner. That role cannot be transferred from inside the application: if that person leaves the team later, write to us and we will sort it out.

If you were invited instead of signing up

If someone on your team invited you, do not create an organization: the invitation email carries a link that adds you to the one that already exists. Creating a new one would mean starting from scratch, without your team’s channels or contacts.

Once you sign in with an accepted invitation, meruma takes you straight into that organization.

What comes next

With the organization created, the path with the fewest detours is: connect a channel so messages start arriving, and then invite the team, so there is something to answer when they get in.
